Description
From mills to factories
Since 1824, the former Krumm, one of the first textile companies in Legnano, has been built, exploiting a pre-existing mill owned by Durini. Today there is a disused factory.
Built in 1824, the factory exploited the
course of the Olonella that descended from the side of the
Madonna delle Grazie Church, then diverted and canalised
with a more linear path towards the Castle.
The mill, equipped with a large double shovel, already owned
by Count Giovanni Durini in 1772 and was later boughyt by
Eraldo Krumm who used it for his company, one of the most
important in Legnano. The mill was visible behind the
castle. Today there is the former Mambretti, a disused
factory.
