The River Contract

The National Table of the Contracts of River is born in 2007 as group of job of the Coordination A21 Locali Italian, with the objective to create a community able to exchange experiences and to promote the Contracts of River in Italy.

October 15 and 16, 2015

The 15th and 16th October at Milan at Expo and Region Lombardia was the X National Table of River Contract meeting about the exchange of good environmental procedures.

Under the hand lens examples of "good governance" for the improvement of water policy that has underlined the key role of the regions and of the local communities for the environment changes through the River Contracts

In two days, it was assign the National River Contracts award 2015 by the commission - Jury coordinated by Alta scuola that has identify deserving relevant experiences. Between the winners it was the article that illustrate the progresses of Mill's Park "Rinascimento fluviale nel bacino del fiume Olona", wrote by Raul Dal Santo and Lucia Vignati, respectively supervisor of the landscape Ecomuseum of Parabiago and collaborator of Mill's Park.

The award was delivered by the President of Alta scuola, and also Endro Martini, National supervisor of Award, that has motivated like that the choice of the jury:“In the evolution of river contract process begun in 2014 (River Olona contract) we can read about strategical chances and about real results that we can take like reference example and like support for the actuation of river contracts in Italy".  

“Get this recognition is definitely pleasing for our community -declare the mayor of Parabiago Raffaele Cucchi- because is the result of an important work lead with determination until to became the Italian example. Give back dignity at river Olona -continue Cucchi- is certainly once of the major environment challenge for us, we work hard and the participants are a lot, obtaining a national award for the creation of a governance model, it can be make us only proud. In the name of the city of Parabiago i address my gratitude at Raul Dal Santo, Lucia Vignati and at all our collaborators, institutions, company, associations and every single citizen for the work done until today.”.
