The Parish Don Giacomo Bianchi had attempted over the years 1905, 1912 1916, to press for the construction of a new place of worship since the old Sempione road, overlooking was now insufficient. On 12 august 1917, during the festival of San Lorenzo received a donation of 3000 lire from a group of men, in order to purchase the land for the new church, and still later received by the Commendator Felice Gajo other 20000 lire; In 1928 he was able to buy so the soil left on the current, Via Manara built on the drawings of the milanese architect Luigi Boffa was completed in 1929 and blessed on 21 december of that year. The Gajo donated the altar in white and rose marble bought from the Church of San Gottardo in Porta Ticinese (Milan); finally on 18 may 1930 Cardinal Schuster consecrated it.
Some years after the bell-tower was finished, meanwhile were still ringing from the data of the old church bells. Since the beginning of the year 1944 until 1947 the milanese painter Natale Penati made the frescoes and Paul Bellegotti decorations. The
12 August 1945 was donated to the Church the statue of the patron saint of the village.
