At the end of March, with the spring, come swallows and swifts and begins the reproductive season of many animal species that populate our area.
From April it is possible to collect tiny wild berries that grow along Villoresi canal. This is also the period of blossoom of many black locusts of the park and of the elder tree, whose flowers – eatable – are still used to prepare desserts and flat breads.
In May, walking near the millraces of the park, it is possible to meet fireflies still present along Villoresi, even in minor part compared with the past. The spring is the most suitable season to go on a trip in the fields in order to discover all the flowers that colour Parabiago and the surroundings.
June instead, is the month when ripe the mulberries. In July it is finished the weat harvesting, while in August it can be possible to taste wild berries.
During the hottest months, in order to escape from hot weather, it is advisable to have a walk along Villoresi banks, under the elder trees, or – to find somewhere cool – a bath in the secondary canals.
September is rich of events: there are a lot of local festivals, particulary on the third week of the month there is the festival of Madonna of Dio'l Sa, while at the end of the month - during San Michele festival – there is a fair around Parabiago streets, as a memory of cattle fair dated back to first '900.
When the autumn comes, apart from observe nature's changes, it will be possible to see the growth of the grapes, the same as the Milan dialectal poet Carlo Porta narrated in his works to convince people to drink the wine from Parabiago, because he thinks that it is very good (he defines it as nett e s'cett, so it is to say that the wine is natural and flavouful). In October weat is sowed. With November and the first cold, natural rhythms slow down and so the human activity: nature prepares itself as every year to a long rest, in order to retur to bloom the following spring.
