Description
The
river finds new spaces.
From here you can see the floodplain areas where the river can freely flow and where a wood of plane trees and native species allows the rest of some birds in complete tranquility. On the right you can see the Molinara irrigation ditch that moved the shovels of the Cornaggia mill: a passage for fish, made with boulders, allows the fish to overcome the artificial waterfall.
The area
visible from this point has been recently realized to
allow the river to flood in a controlled way during the
floods and to flow freely inside it. A small cane thicket
has been planted for phytodepurative purposes, which is a
first example of how the hygrophilous vegetation could
develop, considerably increasing the biodiversity of the
whole area. On the right you can see the Molinara
irrigation ditch that made the blades of the Cornaggia
mill move: a passage for fish, made with boulders, allows
the fish to overcome the artificial waterfall.
