Description
Around the
cemetery of the city is possible to see the memorial plaque
dedicated to the artist. Giuseppe Maggiolini represents a
great pride for the city of Parabiago. Model citizen, tied to
his community and deeply devoted. In this way sources describe
him, albeit often mixed with the legend, contain a part of
truth.
He was able to start from a small workshop of a convent and
then he arrived producing inlaid furniture of excellent
quality for rich italian noble men of the XVIII century,
coming into contact with the greatest artists of the time. He
collaborated with Piermarini in several occasions and with
painters like Appiani and Levati, who produced drawings for
his inlay works.
In addition to this commemorative plaque, Maggiolini is
mentioned among the most important artists of the century in
the monument dedicated to them at the monumental cemetery of
Milan.
A fame too often forgotten, but it is alive in the streets of
his city.
