Description
Leaving
behind us the Church, we have to go left in road Sant'ambrogio and on
the other
side of the street, behind horrible structures, we can see the old
College
Cavalleri. It's a building dated 1700, when the two brothers priests
Claudio I
and Carlo Filippo Cavalleri, opened a College Convitto, reserved
to the
children of the important houses of Milan. After few month, it was already a
success. The pupils became a lot and the two brothers had to widen it.
They
bought a big house with a big garden near the first College, so that
could be
an only body. After 1760, the College was enriched with a
theater-saloon and an
astronomical tower, almost fifteen meter high, that we can still see
stand out
the square. In 1791, Giuseppe Maggiolini bought the theater-saloon, and
made it
the second traditional laboratory , within there was also the house on
the
first and second floor. Today the building comprehends, with more than
1,100
square meter, a garden and a bourgeois house with three floors, that
it's
undergoing renovations. Now we go along street Sant'Ambrogio and when
the road
branches, take street Spagliardi. We will found ourselves in front of
the old
Monastery, edified in the place where the Battle of Parabiago took
place.
