Description
This museum, opened in 1991, is the result of thirty years of passion and
engagement of Luigi Crespi.
A permanent museum, unique in the world, born from the desire to offer to all those
who are interested in bonsai, the opportunity to admire a precious collection
that includes trees, vases and books from different countries of the Far East.
The most important piece of the collection is the millennial Ficus Retusa Linn,
located at the center of a pagoda between two dogs of the nineteenth century Chinese
made with carved wood.
Along the slate tables align other centenarians masterpieces specimens educated
by the most famous Japanese masters including Kato, Kawamoto, Kawahara and Ogasawara.
The vases collection includes numerous pieces of great value, among which bonsai
containers of the period between the Ming and the Ching.
Of great value is the library that contains many books, both ancient and modern,
precious and rare books from around the world.
An important place is occupied by the reconstruction of the "Tokonoma",
the corner that in every Japanese house is used as the display of objects with spiritual
contents.
The collection is completed with precious tansu furniture and other furnishings,
including antique Japanese lamps.
